Where’s Jadei?

Jadei has long been a familiar and beloved face in Pearl Beach. As our resident ‘Posty,’ she’s more than just the person who delivers our mail; she’s become a vital part of the fabric of the Pearl Beach community. Going above and beyond the call of her job, she provides much-needed social connections to many residents, treating the community with a level of compassion and empathy.

Unfortunately, on March 8th, Jadei fell from a ladder while tending to a tall palm in her garden. She landed heavily on her left foot, suffering a Tibial Plateau Fracture. After two surgeries were delayed, Jadei was finally able to undergo a procedure on March 20th, where a plate and screws were fitted to aid in her recovery.

She is now recovering at home with her daughter, but her journey back to full health will be long and difficult. Jadei’s injury requires six weeks of complete rest, with no weight allowed on her affected leg, followed by months of rehabilitation. As a contractor for Auspost, Jadei doesn’t have access to paid leave, meaning she will be without income for at least the next 3, maybe up to 6 months.

To support Jadei during this time, Pearl Beach resident Cathy Lancaster has organised a collection to help ease her financial burden while she’s unable to work.

Jadei has expressed her deep gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community. She said, “I’m so grateful for everybody’s love, support, and messages, which have helped me get through these tough days. I miss everyone.”
