Pearl Beach Progress Association Music & Irvine Family Piano Scholarship Concerts return for a weekend of music performed by students from the Central Coast Conservatorium
Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 May 2021 – 2pm each day in the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall
The annual Scholarship concert has been jointly sponsored by the Pearl Beach Progress Association and the Irvine Family since the inaugural concert held in May 2005 in conjunction with the Central Coast Conservatorium to offer performance opportunity to students who have excelled in their chosen field. The Pearl Beach community have continued to enthusiastically support the concerts and enjoy these rising young music stars.
Patrick Brennan, Artistic Director, Central Coast Conservatorium comments “this prestigious event is an excellent opportunity for Conservatorium students to perform for their local community and deliver truly breath taking performances”. He continues, “this year the Central Coast Conservatorium is most grateful for the financial awards totalling $2,250 that is given by the Pearl Beach Progress Association in Memory of the late Pearl Beach resident, Jill Roe OA and to the Irvine Family for the winners of this important event . The prize money will help them further their musical studies at the CCC”.
The Junior Showcase concert was introduced in 2013 to celebrate solo instrument and vocal performance by the Central Coast Conservatorium junior students. Patrick Brennan, comments, “the showcase concert embraces the concept of “pure performance” rather than “competitive performance” and allows our younger musicians to perform with focus, passion and conviction”.
In 2015 a new initiative was introduced “The People Choice” award with a scholarship valued at $250 jointly sponsored by the Irvine Family and the Progress Association. This concept has become extremely successful and offers the audience the opportunity to choose a performance of their choice.
Following the cancellation in 2020 we invite the Central Coast community to come along and support these fine young .
