WARNING to DOG owners and PARENTS – Rat poison found on the beach in Pearl Beach

Warning – Deadly dog baits on our beach

A dog is currently fighting for its life having eaten a poisonous dog bait left on the beach. Please beware & remove any you see. Please also report to council & Woy Woy police if you find any. These were picked up on the beach shortly afterwards

In NSW, section 15 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979 makes clear that it is against the law to administer poison to a domestic animal – Fine of $22,000. Please report anything suspicious to the Woy Woy police.

Dog owners across the Peninsula are being warned to remain vigilant after more suspected poisonous baits were found at an off-leash area of Umina Beach.

It comes after suspected rat poison was found in baits at Pearl Beach. Those baits were found after a local cavoodle fell ill. Read more here: https://ab.co/3KykiPe

The Central Coast Council says it is working with the EPA to investigate. NSW Police said it was also investigating both alleged incidents.
