Australia Day on Pearl Beach

Australia Day celebrations at Pearl Beach, managed by the Pearl Beach Progress Association have had a long tradition, however due to the Corona 19 Virus and the regulations relating to large gatherings the organising committee have had to scale back on a few of the regular activities.

The traditional BBQ Sausage Sizzle continues for a donation toward Mingaletta Youth Education Program.  The popular Beach Races have been canceled and replaced with family orientated group activities including:

• ‘Family Sand Art’ once a favourite holiday activity, family groups are invited to create sandcastles or sand art ….so bring your buckets, spades, etc!
• ‘Aussie Beach Dressed Family or Group’ families invited to dress up in Australia Day inspired Beach wear.… so get creative!
• ‘Thong Throwing’  points will be awarded to family members who throw their own thongs in a marked out area…so wear your thongs!
• ‘Cooee Call’ your family group may be given the opportunity to make their own Cooee Call …..so practice your technique!

There will be some judging and awards given, but the object of the day is to have a safe fun time at Pearl Beach and the event will be controlled by our very own Australian Day Beach Inspector!

Family groups or individual participants will be required to scan QR Covid Code and register prior to participating.  Names will be recorded with mobile phone details and given a registration number to be used when participating in the various activities. Come early and enjoy the day at the beach.
