Pearl Beach bring music back to the Community
The Pearl Beach Memorial Hall recently resonated with joyful music and song when Don Hopkins, renowned piano player, vocalist and songwriter performed an eclectic program of music from blues and roots (Folk, Country, Gospel, Jazz) tradition. He wowed the large audience with an amazing concert oozing the barrel house, good-time fun of a blues party night, with the emphasis on New Orleans piano styles.
Don is an experienced entertainer and his high energy had the audience clapping and singing along to his good time music. He regularly performs at festivals, special events at various venues as a solo, duo, trio and larger formats. He has also led six to eight piece bands at festivals and clubs performing the songs of the great Fats Domino, New Orleans R&B and Rock‘n’Roll sounds of the 1950s and 60s.
A number of the audience asked “when are you bringing him back?”
